Walls joined Carol Ball and Associates, Realtors in Wailuku in 1987, and later The Prudential Locations in Kihei. She obtained her broker's license in 1991.

A graduate of Punahou School in Honolulu, the author has a BA in mathematics from the University of Oregon Honors College, and is a Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI). She served on and chaired various committees at the Realtors Association of Maui, and was a member of the Hawaii Association of Real Estate Schools.

Walls relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2001. She continues to stay abreast of Hawaii real estate developments and updates her Hawaii Real Estate Exam Book annually.
