I finished Paying the Price last night. Should have gone to sleep but was so hooked I stayed up until 1 a.m. to finish it. Loved your descriptions of local places. Great word choices and images. What an imagination! I couldn't predict any of the twists and turns. I remembered your tale of sitting in the waiting area at Maui Memorial and saying that you had to incorporate that in a book . . . and there it was. Fun!

The real estate issues were so true to life, and the characters, particularly the interaction between mother and troubled teen show tremendous sensitivity and insight. Paying the Price is a real page-turner! I like the writing style, and I enjoyed reading the book tremendously.
